I have long been intrigued by Marco Polo and his story. Some of my earliest memories are in the swimming pool, eyes closed, calling out “Marco.” And waiting to hear the ones I am trying to tag yell out, “Polo.”! A trader, an adventurer and believer in God our father. Many have seen the two season Marco Polo series on NetFlix. But years earlier I had bought a DVD, two DVD’s in one actually, with the true story of Marco Polo from RAI in Italy. That is a magnificent movie, well movies really, that just increased my admiration Marco and his story. 545 minutes long is this minseries!
"Marco Polo is an American-Italian television miniseries originally broadcast by NBC in the United States, by Antenne 2 in France, and by RAI in Italy in 1982. It starred Kenneth Marshall as Marco Polo, the 13th-century Venetian merchant and explorer. The series also featured appearances by Denholm Elliott, Anne Bancroft, John Gielgud, Burt Lancaster, Ian McShane, Leonard Nimoy, and others. It was originally broadcast in four episodes, where episodes 1 and 4 were twice as long as episodes 2 and 3. The series is sometimes divided into six equally long episodes.[1]
Set in the 13th century, the series follows the adventures of Marco Polo, who departes with his father and his uncle to China. His journey through Asia lasts three and half years and leads him through barren deserts and vast steppes. So when visiting Venice in the summer of 2016, I turned to Google to see if there was something Maro Poloish in the area. There was. His house. His retirement home, right on a lovely canal, by a bridge, like many places in Venice!

If you are coming from San Marco, you have to make your way to the Rialto bridge, but do not cross. Instead, continue on the street right before the canal and go over the mini bridge perpendicular to the Rialto. You will see the Church of Crisostomo in front of you, turn right on the street before you get to the church. Keep walking and ahead, you will see a Sotoportego del Milione. Continue to walk through the courtyard and through the portego towards a canal. When you see a bridge, do not cross it, but look to your left. There is a building with a sign above that states that Marco Polo's house used to be at that location.

I wanted to visit the famous house of Marco Polo in Venice ( very few show any interest) . It's almost fifteen minute's walk from Piazza San Marco. The house is beside a narrow canal and you can visit by a water taxi or gondola. But very few people know about it. Someone told me ''Was there any Marco Polo in Venice, really?". I was stunned. It was not easy to find it through winding alleys. Somebody showed me a restaurant in the name of Marco Polo. After Marco Polo, A famous actress used to live here. But I think It's worth seeing even if you can't enter into it. It's ,indeed, a landmark of Venice.

This house is of significance only for someone interested in things related to Marco Polo. It is not even sure he and his family lived there (he died in 1324, so the house would have to be nearly 700 years old) and it can not be visited. It is just an old house, with a commemorative plaque nearby.
